Mask of Christ

Mask of Christ
by Robert Paul Gass (aka Imagines Vinco aka Ultionem Vinco)
The storms of light and thunder spread the fear
Of fire as Typhon's torture spin descends
To pit's despair to path of wisdom near
Yet fallen barren thorny crown of ends.
The sphere of Ibis mask of hanuman
To shelter bane illusion's crevice fur
And sun to shine from eyes as beads of dawn
As men declaring wisdom bring the myrrh.
And music immolates the soul to feel
The sphinx of light the underpinning root
Of ships on Lethe drawn above the keel
Obliterating mind with Saturn's flute.
The storming thunder brings to float the flames
Of passion under mask of Christian shames.
