Commodus Slew Faustina For Oaths

Commodus Slew Faustina For Oaths
by Robert Paul Gass (aka Imagines Vinco aka Ultionem Vinco)
The Furies vengeful followed matricide
In life of shrine Apollo fled to cleanse
The blood of mother slain as justice tide
of southern winds in time of tower lens.
Expostulating life Apollo took
His trust betrayed at temple altar stained
With matricide and bow to shoot the hook
Of ostrich arrows Pleasant face he reigned.
The Furies' vengeful laws condemn the lost
In arenaceous games to watch applause
And thumbs to give the sky as soul for cost
Of Ass in dungeons raping slave of cause.
And Marcus reared the son of slave for pyre
Usurping helmet mother's slain desire.
